Fragrant leaves give off an anise scent when crushed. The lance-shaped leaves are a glossy, smooth dark green. Tidy, clump-forming habit and is not weedy or aggressive in the garden. Native to savannas & pine lands of the eastern U.S. Sun, tolerates light shade. Ht. 2-4 feet. Z4-9.
